Mission Statement

Sweet Charities Of Hanover is a nonprofit organization formed in 2002. We support other nonprofit groups in The Hanover, PA Area that are in need of funding. We operate as a foundation does, reserving the right to select the Organizations to whom we contribute. Requests for donations from nonprofits are kept on file, but are not always chosen to be recipients. Our primary focus is to distribute monies to assist our area citizens.

Since our first fundraiser in April of 2003, we have donated over 1.1 million dollars to benefit citizens of our community and most near and dear to our hearts the Sweet Charities Cancer Patient Fund, which is administered by Hanover Hospital's Social Work Department, in Hanover, PA.

GOALS

The Sweet Charities Cancer Patient Fund has been established as a perpetual recipient of our fund-raising efforts. In addition, we aid other local organizations in their constant need for more funding, such as:

Still Waters (Women and Children Protection from Abuse)

Golden Visions (for Senior Citizens)

The Local Fire Department (Equipment)

Red Cross Local Emergency/Disaster Fund

Changing Lives Shelter (formerly the Cold Weather Shelter for the homeless)

ORGANIZATIONAL GUIDELINES

We comprise a group of caring individuals who receive no pay for their involvement in the organization. We have no paid staff and no designated facility from which to operate. We organize events to provide needed funds which are distributed to groups such as those mentioned above.

WE HAVE BEEN GRANTED 501-c3 STATUS BY THE I.R.S. AND ALL DONATIONS TO US ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
